Prince William & Princess Kate Face Heckling in Scotland Amid Prince Andrew Scandal

Prince William and Princess Kate didn’t receive the warmest welcome to Scotland. In video footage that shows the Prince of Wales, 43, and his wife, 44, during their visit to Stirling and Falkirk on Tuesday, January 20, a person off camera is heard shouting, “How long have you known about Andrew and Epstein?” The person was referring to William’s uncle Andrew Mountbatten Windsor (formerly Prince Andrew), who had his royal titles and honors stripped by King Charles III late last year amid renewed interest in his longtime connection to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. “Have you been covering up for Andrew?” the person is heard shouting, as the footage shows another man saying that he is a police officer and telling the person “that’s enough” and that there were children present in the area. According to the U.K. newspaper Daily Express, William and Kate were walking into a community pub and remained unfazed by the public outburst. People reports that the parents of three were out and about celebrating Scottish traditions. Prince William and Princess Kate also stopped by the National Curling Academy, where they met with Great Britain’s Olympic and Paralympic curling teams ahead of the Winter Olympics in Italy. The former Duke of York, 65, has come under fire in recent months due to his longtime ties to Epstein following the release of Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir and parts of the Epstein files. Though the father of two has continuously denied any wrongdoing and maintains his innocence amid allegations of sexual assault, he and ex-wife Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson must soon vacate Royal Lodge, where they have lived practically rent-free for years.
