Victor Kamenyo Alleges Electoral Irregularities Led to Rubaga Parliamentary Defeat

Rapper Derrick Katongole, popularly known by his stage name Victor Kamenyo, has spoken out about his loss in the parliamentary race for the Rubaga constituency, citing widespread electoral irregularities as the main reason for his defeat. Addressing the media, Victor Kamenyo claimed that the electoral process was flawed from the nomination stage, alleging manipulation and intimidation throughout the campaign period. He accused election officials of allowing pre-ticked ballot papers and said voters were subjected to threats intended to influence their choices at the polls. Kamenyo further alleged that his Declaration of Results (DR) forms were stolen, raising serious concerns about transparency and accountability in the electoral process. “There were lots of irregularities and manipulations from day one that you all witnessed. Threats with clear evidence marred the election process, and ticked ballots. My DR forms were all stolen, and I reached a moment where I questioned the essence of voting,” he said. Following his experience, the rapper-turned-politician questioned the value of holding elections under such conditions, arguing that the process no longer serves its democratic purpose.
