Balmoral Castle is offering exclusive Valentine's Day dining experiences for couples. Guests will enjoy a champagne reception and a multi-course meal featuring locally sourced ingredients, including beef from the estate's cattle. This marks a new initiative to open the royal residence for special events, following the popularity of previous public tours. Bookings are expected to fill rapidly.
Bookings for the “exclusive and intimate’ events will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and are expected to sell out quickly.
Balmoral Castle and estate said: “Celebrate Valentine’s with an intimate dining experience at Balmoral.
“Our Valentine’s dinner is now live and available to book, offering an elegant evening in a truly special setting.
“The menu for the evening will be prepared using fresh produce from the estate and locally sourced ingredients, including Highland beef from Balmoral’s own cattle, reared close to the estate by Grace Noble and renowned for its exceptional quality.

“Guests will be welcomed with a complimentary glass of champagne before enjoying a thoughtfully curated menu, designed for a memorable evening together.”
The menu also includes plum tomato, flat cap mushroom, Watercress salad, onion rings, garlic bread, lemon meringue tart and raspberry sorbet.
In 2024, tours of Balmoral, which allowed people to see parts of the royal family’s private home for the first time, sold out in a day.
For the first time ever, visitors were able to get a peek at rooms, for just £100, or £150 including afternoon tea.
A second tranche of tours held last year also sold out quickly despite a price increase.
Balmoral, in the heart of Royal Deeside, has been a Scottish holiday home for the royal family since the middle of the 19th century and Queen Elizabeth died there aged 96 in September 2022.
The late monarch, who learned to mimic the local Doric dialect, said she was never happier than when she was in her Scottish bolthole.
The castle and its grounds remain a huge tourism draw — so much so that sightseers have worn away the earth around a pyramid Queen Victoria erected for her great love and consort, Prince Albert.
Visits to the grounds from later this month until March are free of charge.
