Ubuntu Breakfast Run: Bikers Gather in Karibib

At least 120 riders from various motor cycle clubs (MCCs) across the country will head to Karibib this Sunday for the annual Ubuntu Breakfast Run (UBF), as is custom with bikers across Africa. Event organiser and president of the Coded MCC, Winston Strauss, says the aim is to unite African bikers in the spirit of Ubuntu, sharing virtue, compassion and humanity with others. “Ubuntu is getting bikers, regardless of race, age and your engine’s displacement, to come together and enjoy the ride,” Strauss says. He stresses: “It’s not the destination that makes the UBF, but the journey.” All riders start at a central point in their respective towns before gathering at Karibib at a local guesthouse, where all the activities will take place.
