In a post on social media, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said members of their Burlington detachment received calls just after 3 a.m. on Tuesday for complaints of a “bobtail truck” with missing tires.
The driver was first spotted in the Toronto-bound lanes of the QEW in the Ontario Street area of St. Catharines.
“Officers were able to see (and hear) the truck approaching and stopped it near Casablanca Blvd. in Grimsby,” the OPP said in their post.
They added that the driver was completing his daily inspection report as the officer who pulled him over approached the vehicle to speak with him.
