A male teenager has died at Jerrabomberra Waterhole despite the efforts of a bystander to keep him alive.
A NSW Police spokesperson said emergency services were called at about 2:05 pm on Monday (19 January) to Waterfall Drive, Jerrabomberra, following reports there was a male teenager seriously injured at the bottom of a cliff.
“A member of the public commenced CPR before NSW Ambulance arrived; however, he died at the scene,” they said.
A local who lives near the waterhole and has been in Jerrabomberra for more than two decades said his son ran down to the area when he saw the ambulances arrive on scene.
“There have been several incidents over the years with people slipping and diving off those rocks, but I’m not aware of any fatalities,” he said.
“My son went down to see what the commotion was as police arrived and were clearing people from the area.
“A tarp was taken down while police cordoned off the area.”
No further police action will be taken.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
