Tammy Hembrow's Ex-Husband Spills Divorce Bombshell: 'Three Months'

Matt Zukowski has dropped a huge bombshell about his whirlwind marriage to Aussie influencer Tammy Hembrow, changing everything people thought they knew about their relationship. Australia 2026, opened up on Tuesday’s episode, claiming his marriage to the 31-year-old mum-of-three was actually much shorter than the public were led to believe. ‘Three months’ 90s pop-star Deni Hines asked how long he was married and he replied “three months” but “publicly it was seven”. “It’s a quickie, short, sharp,” one campmate quipped before Barry Williams chimed in, “by Hollywood standards, buddy, good go”. According to Zukowski’s new comments, that would mean they separated around the end of February. In Australia, you need to be separated for at least 12 months before you can apply for a divorce, meaning the pair are technically still married, at least until next month. In a cutaway interview, Zukowski said he was adamant their relationship would improve after the big day. “I was very much convinced that things would get better once we were married, and things would change, but it actually got a lot worse,” he explained. Zukowski went on to say that he “hopes” he’ll get married again but “he won’t try to find my wife through Instagram”, which is how he initially connected with Hembrow. The pair were engaged just two months after they first met in 2023, after the Love Island star slid into Hembrow’s direct messages. It seems he’s not planning to shy away from discussing his marriage on the show, as it’s not the first time he’s referenced it. In a promo clip released earlier in the week, Zukowski described his marriage as “scary”. “I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous about going [into the jungle],” the reality star said. “But I’ve just got out of a pretty scary marriage, so how scary can this actually be?” Fans here for the ‘tea’ Fans have been eagerly discussing his comments on social media. “This is tea,” one declared. Others questioned how they managed to cover up the short-lived marriage, keeping up facades for an extra four months. However, some pointed out that it was “obvious to most” that there were issues before June. Rumours around the marriage Fans had been speculating for months before the divorce announcement, noting that Zukowski was absent from Hembrow’s birthday celebrations in April 2025 and from some social content where he would usually have appeared. There were also cheating rumours about Zukowski surfacing as early as September 2023, just one month into them dating. There was also reported drama around Hembrow asking Zukowski to sign a prenup, including an alleged confrontation on the wedding day and repeated unfollow/refollow behaviour on social media, with speculation at the time that the wedding might not go ahead. Then in early June, Hembrow broke down on her Instagram Stories in front of her 17 million followers, saying she had been “dealing with some heavy stuff” – which many fans saw as a divorce ‘soft launch’. Hembrow has been tight-lipped about the reasons for their divorce but she has revealed that she didn’t expect or want the marriage to end and that she had been “swept up” in the relationship, seeing it through “rose-coloured glasses”. In an interview with news.com.au before he headed out to the jungle, Zukowski provided slightly more detail. He said there were a few factors at play, but he has no regrets about how things panned out. “I learned so much about myself [and] other people and how certain people can behave and act, and I wouldn’t change a thing, and I’m happy,” he said. However, he did add that he “feels sorry” for his past self but he’s “out the other end now and doing way better”. He also hinted that the public attention on the relationship was difficult and played a part in the relational stress. “A lot of people wanted it to not do well from the outside. That was probably the most painful thing,” he said. “I feel like a lot of the public didn’t want it to succeed.”
