By Albert Futukpor, GNA Tamale, Jan. 19, GNA – The Tamale Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana has held a grand durbar to climax its 35th anniversary celebration marking years of faithful witness, mission, and service. The celebrations, marked by singing and dancing amid some performances, brought together clergy, laity, traditional leaders, ecumenical partners, and members of the public. It was on the theme: “Imparting God’s Word in the Tamale Diocese: 35 Years and Beyond”. Most Reverend Professor Johnson Kwabena Asamoah-Gyadu, Presiding Bishop, Methodist Church Ghana, addressing the grand durbar in Tamale at the weekend, touted the Church’s role in providing quality education and medical care for the citizenry. He emphasised that “When it comes to education and medical care, the contributions of the Church have been unparalleled” and gave assurance that it would continue to impart more lives. He urged the Church to remain steadfast in their service to God and contributions to society. Mr Ali Adolf John, Northern Regional Minister, whose speech was read on his behalf by Mr Salifu Yakubu Abdulai, Deputy Public Relations Officer, Northern Regional Coordinating Council (NRCC), expressed appreciation to the Methodist Church Ghana for its continued commitment to faith, service, and community development. Mr John emphasised that “The Church remains a vital partner in shaping values, promoting peace, and uplifting our communities. Your dedication to spiritual growth and social responsibility does not go unnoticed and it continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of many.” He assured the Church of his support and strong collaboration between them and the NRCC as they worked together for the region’s progress.
