Su Yiming Claims World Cup Slopestyle Bronze in Laax

Big Air Olympic champion Su Yiming took a bronze medal in the men's slopestyle at the FIS Snowboard World ‌Cup in Laax, Switzerland, thanks to a solid performance in the first round. The 21-year old wrapped up his last competition before the Winter Olympics with a leading position in the overall standings. China's Su, the silver medalist at the event at Beijing 2022, was 12th after the semifinal, and was the first to take to the slope. Su didn't choose to attempt the most difficult move in the first run, and he made a Back Double Cork 1260 Mute in the first jump and completed it smoothly with 76.10 points to sit second. In his next run, Su tried to add more difficult moves, but made a mistake, and as a result, his subsequent moves were affected. He only scored 12.53 point in the run. Su ended with the bronze based on the result from the first round. France's Romain Allemand won gold, while Japan's Yuto Kimura settled for silver. Su is in good form for the upcoming Olympics in Italy. With four World Cup podium finishes this season, he tops the table before heading to Italy.
