Splitgate Arena Reloaded 2.2: Arena Royale Blends Shooter Action & Battle Royale

Zephyr Cove, NV (Jan 19, 2026) 1047 Games announced Update 2.2 for SPLITGATE: Arena Reloaded, introducing Arena Royale, a reimagined battle royale mode built on the studio's arena-first philosophy. Update 2.2 also delivers new Arena content, with two new Arena maps, all new Mastery Challenges, and more. The update goes live Wednesday, January 22, on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Windows), Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. The mode removes buy stations in favor of instant upgrades, includes respawning to get players back into action, and introduces Arena Events that bring classic arena objectives into the battle royale format. “When we sat down to design Arena Royale, we knew we wanted to push it closer to that arena shooter feel,” said 1047 Games Design Director Josh Watson. “We kept coming back to this core idea: less looting, more shooting.” SPLITGATE: Arena Reloaded’s Update 2.2 exemplifies 1047 Games’ commitment to the arena shooter genre. Alongside the launch of Arena Royale, Splitgate fans can also expect Two brand-new arena maps: Tri-Hard – A high-flying arena built around launch portals and jump pads, turning every fight into aerial chaos. This map leans lighthearted and unhinged, and is all about risky plays, epic launches, and catching opponents off guard. Runway – Set in a neon cityscape inspired by the energy of Shinjuku, Runway is designed around strong portal routes, fast rotations, and clear power positions that reward movement and aggression. An all-new limited-time event, “Teabag Takeover” You read that right. Teabag Takeover arrives on Friday, January 23! This new Limited Event is a celebration of a long-forgotten sign of respect. Some might even call it an elegant greeting, for a more civilized age. Players can jump into matches and teabag their opponents to earn points toward unlocking new teabag themed rewards. A new mastery camo, Isotromic Awarded to players who unlock chase camos on every available weapon. If you see Isotromic in a match, you know that player put in the work.
