Sony and Ameria have partnered to launch a touch-free 3D display solution. This collaboration integrates Sony's glasses-free Spatial Reality Display with Ameria's gesture control and interactive signage software. The system allows users to manipulate 3D content without physical contact, aiming to revolutionize product presentations and 3D interaction across various industries. The solution will debut at ISE 2026 in Barcelona.
Technology companies, Sony and Ameria, have announced a new collaboration to create a ‘latency-free’ gesture control solution designed for immersive 3D visualisation.
The new partnership brings together Sony’s Spatial Reality Display (SRD) technology with Ameria’s newly developed StarKit 3D interactive signage solution. Sony’s SRD provides 3D elements without the need for special glasses or other additional devices, aiming to deliver “ultra-realistic” visuals in any setting.
The new system incorporates two integrated Intel RealSense sensors positioned within a purpose-built mount that aligns with Sony’s SRD, tracking hand movement in real time and allowing users to interact with 3D content without touching a screen.
The solution, which has a range of possible applications including for out-of-home (OOH) display, combines this gesture control technology with a simplified and modular software platform.
The integrated Ameria StarKit has been developed to enable users to upload, organise, and present existing 3D assets in minutes. By combining Ameria’s interaction technology and the content software platform of StarKit, Sony will deliver a complete 3D interactive signage system built around its SRD for the first time worldwide.
The combined offer will debut publicly at the upcoming ISE 2026 exhibition in Barcelona for the European market, marking the first time the full workflow will be demonstrated as a unified system. ISE 2026 takes place at the Fira de Barcelona venue from February 3rd to 6th, with Sony exhibiting at Stand 3E300.
The package will be offered through selective distribution across Europe, with units expected to be available immediately following ISE 2026. A three-year warranty on both Sony and Ameria hardware will be included, with software licensing for Ameria’s content-management applications available on an annual basis.
Following the launch, Sony and Ameria are planning to expand to other markets where 3D data is already heavily in use including healthcare, architecture, planning, design, and engineering.
Rik Willemse, head of professional displays and solutions at Sony Europe, says: “At a time when brands are looking for richer customer experiences and greater operational efficiency, this collaboration delivers a truly unique proposition.
“Sony’s Spatial Reality Display already sets the benchmark for high-quality glasses-free 3D. Paired with Ameria’s gesture-control and content-management capabilities, it opens the door to real-world applications that previously required complex, bespoke setups.”
Commenting on the impact of the new solution, Willemse adds: “We are confident that together we can launch a genuine game changer that will transform how we work and interact in 3D as well as how we present products, while also making the process more efficient, effective, and sustainable.”
