Sézane and Sea NY have launched their third fashion collaboration, featuring vintage-inspired prairie dresses, quilted jackets, and crochet shirts. The collection blends Sézane's feminine silhouettes with Sea NY's signature patchwork and embroidery. This partnership, rooted in craftsmanship and customer loyalty, aims to offer sincere, quality pieces that resonate with a desire for romanticism and a slower aesthetic.

When Sea NY launched in New York back in 2006, the world was on the cusp of a digital revolution. A new social networking site, TheFacebook, had been launched two years prior by an unknown Harvard undergrad – in the same year, e-commerce platform Net-a-Porter turned a profit for the first time. A year later, the first iPhone would be released in the US. Skip forward seven years, and 4,000 miles away the Parisian brand Sézane was born in the year that saw “selfie” added to the dictionary. But even as the world became consumed by novelty, Sézane and Sea NY both remained rooted in design that carried “a sense of history and intention”, as Sézane’s founder, Morgane Sézalory, puts it. It was this consistency, as well as a deep understanding of brand building and customer loyalty, that allowed the two companies to flourish where so many others failed, and, in turn, what made each of their design collaborations–in 2018 and 2023–a sellout success. The two labels have now teamed up for a third drop, live on 18 January, which continues in a similar vein, bringing together Sézane’s feminine silhouettes and Sea NY’s iconic patchworking and embroidery in a line-up of vintage-inspired, prairie-style dresses, quilted jackets with wide lapels and and crochet-detail shirting. And while most fashion collaborations these days are engineered to generate as much hype as possible, it’s clear that this partnership is built with fans–of which there are many–in mind. “I think people today are looking for sincerity and quality, and for brands that stand for something beyond constant novelty, and truly listen to their customers,” Sézalory explains. “At both Sea and Sézane, we’re deeply rooted in craftsmanship and in creating pieces designed to be worn, loved, and kept. We build wardrobes thoughtfully, focusing on how each piece can be refined over time.” The collection may have been designed to sit outside the trend cycle, but it is noteworthy that it arrives off the back of 2025 – the year that witnessed the comeback of boho and continued obsession with Little House On The Prairie-coded “cottagecore”. What is behind this compulsion to bring bucolic charm to the city streets? “I think this return to romanticism has been building for a while and will continue into 2026 and beyond,” Sézalory says. “People are drawn to softness, femininity, and delicate, handcrafted detail–to things that feel more real, more human. It’s an aesthetic that speaks to a desire for slowness, connection, and a life lived a little more offline.” The collection will no doubt bolster Sézane’s already significant profile in the US–the brand now has eight permanent stores there–and the campaign itself was shot in New York’s Nolita neighborhood, the location of the brand’s first store outside of Paris. Meanwhile, the more accessible price points will inevitably open up Sea NY’s premium designs to a wider, possibly younger, demographic. “We received such a warm welcome from the US community, and New York has always been a huge source of inspiration for us,” Sézalory reflects. “Parisian style is often about simplicity, with a strong focus on cut, quality, materials, and those petits details, whereas New York can feel freer and more expressive, with bolder silhouettes and an instinctive approach to getting dressed. What I love is how these two energies naturally complement each other. But there’s no single way to define either city, and that openness is what keeps things interesting.” Shop an edit of Sézane x Sea NY below.
