Samsung Wallet Now Supports Digital Keys for 2026 Toyota RAV4

Owners of compatible Samsung Galaxy smartphones will be able to create a Digital Key for their 2026 Toyota RAV4. With a digital key, they will be able to lock, unlock, and start their vehicles without a physical key. It has been a few years since Samsung launched Samsung Wallet as a platform for Galaxy smartphone users to securely store payments methods, identification cards, and Digital Keys. Owners of a compatible smartphone can create a digital key of their supported car model and use their phone to lock, unlock, and start the vehicle. However, roll-out for supported vehicles has been slow, as only a few brands are added each year. In late 2024, the brand added support for select Audi vehicles, while 2025 saw the addition of select Volvo, Polestar, and Mercedes Benz vehicles. This year is kicking off with the support for Toyota vehicles, starting with the 2026 Toyota RAV4. According to the press release, the feature will support select 2026 Toyota RAV4 models and will begin rolling out this month in the US, Canada, and Mexico, while a wider rollout will follow in Europe (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom) in alignment with the release dates of supported Toyota vehicles. Like other cars, owners will need a Galaxy smartphone that has Ultra Wide-band (UWB) and Near Field Communications (NFC) support such as the Galaxy S25 Ultra (currently available on Amazon for $1,023.45). Once a supported car is added to the Samsung Wallet, users will be able to lock, unlock, and start their car without the need for a physical key. They will also be able to share the digial key with trusted contacts, which can be handy if it is a car that is driven by multiple members of a household. Of course, access can be revoked or updated at any time. And if you lose your smartphone, you can remotely lock or delete the key using the Samsung Find service.
