RAJOURI: As part of the National Road Safety Month 2026, the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) Rajouri in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Rajouri organised an awareness programme on National Road Safety. The programme was held under the national theme “Sadak Suraksha – Jeevan Raksha” (Road Safety – Life Protection) with the aim to promote road safety awareness and reduce road accidents through collective public participation.
The programme witnessed the presence of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Rajouri Rajinder Saproo; Secretary District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Shama Sharma; Munsiff Shavika Gupta; Administrator One Stop Centre (OSC) Nitu Sharma, officers from the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) including ARTO, Rajesh Gupta and DTI, officials from Traffic Police and others.
Addressing the gathering, Rajinder Saproo, Principal District and Sessions Judge emphasized that human life is extremely precious and urged the general public to strictly adhere to traffic rules and regulations while driving. He also stressed that enforcement agencies must take firm action against traffic violators to ensure road discipline and safety. As part of the awareness initiative, helmets, sweets and flowers were distributed among the general public to encourage compliance with traffic rules and promote safe driving behavior

Officials from the Motor Vehicles Department and Traffic Police sensitized the public about traffic rules, safe driving practices and the importance of wearing helmets and seatbelts to prevent loss of life.
