Le Massif de Charlevoix Abruptly Cancels 2026 Ski Season

A major ski resort near Quebec City has officially ended its season. After negotiations with striking unionized workers collapsed, leaving operations at a standstill, Le Massif de Charlevoix announced that continuing the season was no longer viable. Renowned for its dramatic terrain that plunges from lofty peaks to the water’s edge, the resort offers an expansive outdoor playground year-round, paired with standout local gastronomy and on-mountain accommodations. In winter, Le Massif delivers one of Quebec’s most impressive ski experiences, with 53 trails and glades spread across more than 400 acres, along with a vast off-piste playground for more adventurous skiers. The mountain benefits from an average 545 cm of natural snowfall each year, supported by ongoing investments in snowmaking to ensure consistently strong conditions throughout the season. When is Le Massif officially closing? Regular operations have been closed since January 19 at 4 p.m. How will ski tickets, sledding and dining reservations be affected? Season passes & multi-day passes: No decision yet. Updates will be communicated within the next two weeks. Day tickets & consecutive multi-day tickets: Refunded if their valid dates fall during the strike period up to January 25, 2026. Decisions for later dates will be announced within two weeks. Reciprocity with Mont Grand-Fonds: The agreement has been terminated; sticker distribution is suspended. Snow school registrations: No decision yet; updates expected within two weeks. Sledding reservations: Refunded if valid during the strike period up to January 22, 2026. Later dates to be confirmed within two weeks. Camp-Boule restaurant reservations: Automatically cancelled. Accommodations are independent of Le Massif de Charlevoix and remain open during the strike. January 2–15, 2026: If your arrival date falls during the strike, you may receive a credit usable within 12 months for the same unit. January 16–19, 2026: Only cancellations allowed, with a 50% fee.
