THE Namibian Police (NamPol) in the Erongo Region are seeking public assistance in identifying a man who was run over by a truck in Karibib.
According to Senior Inspector Judith Shomongula, the culpable homicide incident occurred on Monday, 19 January 2026, at about 23:35 on the B2 road, approximately 36 km from Karibib towards Okahandja.
“It is alleged that a 54-year-old Namibian male, who was driving a truck travelling from Walvis Bay to Windhoek, suddenly saw a male pedestrian on the road about 36 km from Karibib while heading to Okahandja. Unfortunately, he was unable to avoid the accident in time and struck the pedestrian,” Shomongula said.
She added that the pedestrian sadly died at the scene, and his next of kin have not yet been informed as they are currently unknown.
“The Police are urging members of the public with a missing relative to assist with identification or to provide any information that may lead to identifying the deceased. Anyone with information should contact Detective Inspector Shashipapo Muduva at 0812137799 or the nearest Police Station,” Shomongula urged.
