Singapore's First Deluxe Pokémon TCG Gym Opens in *SCAPE!

If you’re imagining a regular gym, think again! This is Singapore’s very first Deluxe Pokémon trading card game (TCG) Gym. For those unfamiliar with the TCG community, players often gather at existing venues or card arenas to battle it out across various TCG series, including Magic: The Gathering, One Piece, and more. In this case, the Deluxe Pokémon Gym focuses exclusively on all things Pokémon. That means every Pokémon trading card gamer earns a rite of passage by visiting this gym at least once. Not a seasoned player? Don’t worry! The shop runs New Trainer Journey sessions to guide beginners (like us). These sessions offer a friendly introduction to gameplay, and you won’t need to own any cards to get started. You’ll kick off your tutorial by choosing between two battle formats—Basic Battle or Mega Evolution Demo Battle. The difference comes down to the deck size, which varies between 30 and 60 cards. As you gain confidence, you’ll graduate with two sets of Basic Battle Decks (30 cards per set). Prefer playing Pokémon digitally? Good news—the gym lets you try any Pokémon games for free before buying. If you want one compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2, pick Pokémon Legends: Z-A, released in October 2025. Keep in mind, the gym sets the game to real-time combat rather than turn-based battles. The gym isn’t just for games—it also offers plenty of official merchandise to spoil your loved ones.
