There were excellent individual performances all over the pitch as Argyle secured a sixth win out of their last seven away games in all competitions
Here are the player ratings of Plymouth Live's Argyle reporter Chris Errington from the Pilgrims' 1-0 League One win against Peterborough United at the Weston Homes Stadium. You can give your marks too using our special widget further down this story.
Conor Hazard 6 - Made a couple of relatively simple saves in the first half and then was hardly troubled during the second half such was Argyle's control over the game. Even in the 13 minutes of added time of at the end of the match, Peterborough - albeit with only 10 men after an 89th minute red card for Peter Kioso - could not come up with any way of troubling the goalkeeper.
Joe Edwards 8 - After a below-par performance from the Argyle captain in the 4-3 Vertu Trophy victory over Bristol Rovers, especially from a defensive perspective, this was much more like it from him, full of determination and energy. Made an excellent run in the second half to get in behind the Peterborough defence and from his clever cut-back striker Bim Pepple had a first-time shot saved by Alex Bass.

Mathias Ross 8 - This was one of his best games in an Argyle shirt since signing in August. It was a physical contest at times, with challenges flying in, but the Danish defender stood up to the task. Could have scored in the second half too but did not make proper contact with his header inside the Peterborough box after a free-kick from Joe Ralls was flicked on.
Alex Mitchell 8 - It was the sort of game where Argyle needed their centre-backs to be aggressive and to go and win the ball, rather than be reactive, and that suited Mitchell, who put in another strong performance. He has been an excellent loan signing from Charlton Athletic.
Brendan Galloway 8 - The Zimbabwe international is not a natural left-back but he has been making a very good job of playing there over recent matches. Even deep into added time at the end of the match, he was sprinting at full speed to prevent a cross from going into the Argyle penalty area.
Ronan Curtis 8 - Followed his impressive debut display against Bristol Rovers with another very good performance in this match. Playing wide on the right he provided good balance and plenty of end product for the attack-minded Pilgrims. It is still early days but it has been a very encouraging start to his Argyle career.
Malachi Boateng 8 - Argyle were excellent with their high press of the ball which forced Peterborough into turning over the ball numerous times inside their own half, and the aggression and tenacity of Boateng was one of the key factors behind that. He also supported the attacking play with some surging runs from central midfield.
Joe Ralls 9 STAR MAN - The game got frenetic at times, with yellow cards being dished out all over the place by referee Ben Atkinson, but one man kept calm at all times - and that was Ralls. He controlled the play by winning the ball back and then getting Argyle going forward with some astute passing. His signing as a free agent in November has been absolutely crucial to the team's turnaround in fortunes.
Matty Sorinola 8 - Was substituted at half-time against Bristol Rovers after really struggling defensively in that game, but Tom Cleverley kept faith in Sorinola and was rewarded with a much-improved performance from him, playing on the left side of midfield rather than as a full-back on this occasion. He was up and down the pitch from minute one until he was substituted in added time.
Lorent Tolaj 8 - Will have been disappointed not to add to his goal tally for this season given the couple of excellent clear-cut chances he had in the second half, but his finishing was uncharacteristically wild. However, it was his closing down of Peterborough's Tom O'Connor which led to him winning the ball off the defender and setting up Bim Pepple to score what turned out to be the only goal of the game in the 23rd minute.
Bim Pepple 8 - Got the winning goal for Argyle for the second successive match. It was a simple tap-in but he was in the right place at the right time to profit from his strike partner Lorent Tolaj winning the ball deep in Peterborough territory. Pepple could have ended up with a hat-trick given the other good chances he had during the game but with three goals in the last five games he is making his mark for the Pilgrims.
SUBSTITUTES
Caleb Watts - Argyle were playing so well that Tom Cleverley did not make his first substitution until the 85th minute when he sent on Caleb Watts for goalscorer Bim Pepple to add some extra energy up front.
Brendan Wiredu - The midfielder replaced Matty Sorinola in the third of what turned out to be 13 minutes of added time at the end of the match.
Kornel Szucs - With Peterborough reduced to 10 men after the red card to Peter Kioso they did not look like getting a late equaliser but just to be sure Tom Cleverley sent on Szucs for Lorent Tolaj as an extra defensive player in the ninth minute of added time.
Substitutes (not used): Luca Ashby-Hammond, Jamie Paterson, Xavier Amaechi, Ayman Benarous.
