The rebranding of a well-known venue in Devon is to better reflect the scale, ambition and profile of the events it hosts, bosses have said.
The former Plymouth Pavilions has been renamed the Plymouth Arena, and marked the "next chapter" of its long-standing role in the city by offering entertainment and events, they added.
CEO of Plymouth Marina Sarah Phillips said they had taken the opportunity to redefine what it stood for by putting creativity, community and character at the heart of venue.
"As we look to the future, it's time for a name that reflects that energy and ambition," she said.
Phillips said: "This is not simply a rebrand or a visual change; it's a promise.
"A promise to be louder, braver and more connected than ever before."
The venue, with a fully standing capacity of 4,000 and fully seated capacity of 2,500, opened its doors in 1991.
Bosses said the next five years would see the venue strengthen its foundations, invest in innovation and talent, and evolve its operations to be "sharper, more sustainable and ready for what's next".
They added that events already scheduled would go ahead as planned, with no disruption to ticket holders, partners or promoters, adding it would continue to host a diverse range of events including live music, comedy, family shows, exhibitions and conferences.
