Ogun State Government Halts Awujale Selection Process for Second Time

Ogun State Government has for the second time put on hold the process of selecting a candidate for the stool of Awujale of Ijebuland. The new development was conveyed in a letter dated January 20, 2026 sent to the chairman of Ijebu Ode Local Government. The letter was signed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat. It followed the second petition to the state government by Fuji King, Wasiu Ayinde (KWAM 1). The petition was signed on behalf of KWAM 1 by his counsel, Dr. Wahab Shittu (SAN).
