Minister Musasizi Secures Fourth Term as Rubanda East MP

State Minister of Finance Henry Musasizi of the National Resistance Movement has been re-elected as Member of Parliament for Rubanda East Constituency, securing a fourth term following a decisive victory over his closest rival. Official results show Musasizi received 36,534 votes, comfortably surpassing independent candidate Jogo Keneth Biryamarema, who garnered 15,961 votes. The win gives Musasizi a margin of 20,573 votes. Four candidates contested the seat in total, including Democratic Front Party candidate Jasper Ayebare, who obtained 42 votes, and independent Collins Victor Atuhaire, who polled 131 votes. Upon being declared MP-elect, Musasizi thanked the people of Rubanda East for renewing their confidence in him and reaffirmed his commitment to continue serving the constituency. "I have been returned to Parliament because the people of Rubanda East still believe in my leadership. I commit myself to continue from where I left off," Musasizi said. He further highlighted that his return to Parliament would enable him to safeguard the national budget and ensure responsible financial management, citing his track record both within Rubanda East and across the wider Kigezi sub-region. "I believe my re-election reflects my hard work, and I assure the people that I will continue to represent them effectively," Musasizi added.
