MOROGORO: MINISTER of State in the Prime Minister’s OfficeRegional Administration and Local Government (PMO– RALG), Professor Riziki Shemdoe, has directed the contractor of MCB Ltd, affiliated with Mbeya University of Science and Technology (MUST), to complete the construction of the Morogoro Regional Commissioner’s office by July 2026. Dr Mussa, while accepting the minister’s directives, expressed earlier doubts about the contractor’s ability to complete the project, citing limited performance. Meanwhile, building designer Justine Katabaro of MCB Ltd confirmed that they have received the minister’s instructions and will work with the RAS and the supervising consultant to prepare a plan, which will ensure the office is completed and handed over by July 2026. Engineer Khamadu Kitunzi from TBA explained that the office is a three-story building: The ground floor is designated for parking and driver offices; the first and second floors will house staff offices and a hall; and the third floor will accommodate the RC and RAS’s offices. The project, which is estimated to cost 6.5bn/-, began in 2022. According to TBA, the project is currently 69 per cent complete.
