Mo Salah Included in Liverpool's Travelling Squad for Marseille

Mo Salah has been named in Liverpool’s travelling squad to play Olympique de Marseille in the Champions League, but Ibrahima Konate is not included. Having returned from AFCON after finishing fourth with Egypt, Salah is back in contention for Liverpool and will be a part of the 20-man squad in Marseille. Liverpool’s No. 11 has been missing for Liverpool’s last seven matches, but he is back now and travelling to the south of France with the team. Konate has not been included in the travelling squad, however. The Frenchman didn’t train on Tuesday because he is back home in France due to family reasons, reported journalist James Pearce. With Konate, Conor Bradley and Giovanni Leoni all out injured, we should see a backline of Jeremie Frimpong, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk and either Andy Robertson or Milos Kerkez. If Gomez or Van Dijk were to get injured, the next in line to play at centre-back are Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch, while Robertson could also provide a makeshift option. Mo Salah returns to Liverpool after AFCON Despite Salah’s falling out with Arne Slot in early December, the head coach is pleased to have him back. The Dutchman said last week: “Even if I had 15 attackers I still would have been happy that he comes back, but that’s not our current situation.
