Mloganzila Launches Special Camp for Kidney Failure Patients

DAR ES SALAAM: MUHIMBILI National Hospital-Mloganzila has started a special camp for the modern treatment of kidney stones for patients with this challenge using a modern laser method. MNH-Mloganzila Urologist, Dr. Hamis Isaka, explained that the camp, which began today, January 21 to 23, 2026, is being conducted by local experts specializing in urinary system surgery. He explained that due to the need for the service by many citizens, the hospital has decided to provide this treatment to ensure that citizens benefit from the significant investment made by the government in the health sector. According to Dr Isaka, the service of breaking kidney stones using laser radiation is a treatment that helps the patient experience less pain, no scarring or incisions, where the patient will stay in the ward for a few days, approximately one to two days. In addition, Dr Isaka explained how to prevent someone from getting kidney stones, including drinking plenty of water at least 3 liters a day, reducing salt intake, reducing red meat intake, eating fruits and vegetables, exercising and getting regular checkups.
