Republic of Ireland striker Michael Obafemi has joined League One side Blackpool on loan after his time at 2 Bundesliga outfit Vfl Bochum was brought to an end.
Obafemi's parent club Burnley agreed with Bochum to end an loan spell by mutual agreement. He played just three competitive matches in Germany.
Obafemi said: "It feels great and I'm thankful for this opportunity to play here.
"I’ve learned a lot about myself recently and it’s a great time for me to come back to the UK. I’m here to score goals and try and help the side climb up the table and get to where it needs to be."
Blackpool's boss Ian Evatt is looking to get Obafemi back to his previous levels. The Tangerines are 20th in the 24-team division.
He said: "Michael is very talented and for us to be able to bring in a player of his quality is really exciting.
"He has a history of scoring goals in the Championship and has Premier League experience too.
"He has a point to prove and is desperate to get back to where he was in his career not too long ago. That can only bode well for us."
The 25-year-old made his breakthrough in the Premier League with Southampton in 2018 and also enjoyed a good season with Swansea in the Championship 2021.
That led to a return to the Premier League with Burnley but he now departs on a loan spell for a fourth time having been at Millwall and Plymouth Argyle, Bochum and now Blackpool.
He has 12 Ireland caps and two goals.
