Toronto Man Charged After Indecent Act at Markham Community Centre

A Toronto man has been charged after police responded to a call about a suspect who was allegedly committing an “indecent act” while hiding behind garbage bins at a Markham community centre last month. Officers with York Regional Police were called to the Milliken Mills Community Centre, in the area of Kennedy Road and 14th Avenue, at around 6 p.m. on Dec. 5. According to police, a male was seen hiding behind different garbage cans in the main hallway, committing an indecent act. He fled before officers arrived. Police received another call on Dec. 7 saying that the same person had returned. Officers arrived and took him into custody. Police said Tuesday that 66-year-old Vahid Hossein-Nia is facing an indecent act charge. YRP also released an image of the suspect, saying he frequented the community centre and they believe there may have been more incidents.
