Four Manchester United players were named in BBC Sport's Premier League Team of the Week, despite strong performances from Amad Diallo and Lisandro Martinez. Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes, and Patrick Dorgu were recognized by pundit Troy Deeney for their contributions in the team's victory. Diallo and Martinez's notable efforts were overlooked in Deeney's final selection.
Manchester United duo Amad Diallo and Lisandro Martinez were both surprisingly left out of Troy Deeney’s picks for BBC Sport’s Premier League Team of the Week.
Both Amad Diallo and Lisandro Martinez deeply impressed for the Red Devils at the weekend, with Manchester United defeating Manchester City 2-0 at Old Trafford.
Amad is now worth ___________
Fill in the blank!
Martinez played the full 90 minutes in the Red Devils backline alongside Harry Maguire and neutralised the presence of Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.
Amad, on the other hand, was a lively threat in Man Utd’s attacking set-up against Man City on Saturday afternoon and played the full 90 minutes of the match.
The 23-year-old Ivorian forward hit the post late in the second half of United’s 2-0 Premier League win and also saw his first-half effort ruled out due to an offside.

Paul Scholes and Lisandro Martinez have reignited their feud after the Manchester derby…
“Manchester United were excellent as they beat neighbours City on Saturday,” Deeney said in his BBC Sport column.
“I could’ve put the whole of the United team in this week, to be totally honest. However, having Harry Maguire back from his hamstring injury is huge for Michael Carrick.
“He was probably United’s best player during Ruben Amorim’s time in charge as well.”
Patrick Dorgu, meanwhile, was operating on the opposing flank to Amad in Michael Carrick’s attacking set-up and he made a real impact from the left wing at the weekend.
Speaking about the 21-year-old Danish defender, Deeney added: “He seems a freer player since being moved up the pitch.
“There have been a lot of conversations about systems at United, but with Dorgu, one thing is clear – as a high left-sided player, he seems to have added a lot to his game. More goals helps as well.”

Troy Deeney includes Bruno Fernandes and Bryan Mbeumo in the Team of the Week alongside Harry Maguire and Patrick Dorgu
Bruno Fernandes was deployed in the No 10 role and the 31-year-old Man Utd captain picked up an assist for the Red Devils’ second-half opener against City.
“He would have been a scorer in the Manchester derby if he had managed to stay onside, but he was the heart of the United performance,” Deeney said.
“How many times are we going to say that? United are only as good as he drives them to be.”

Bruno Fernandes’ link-up with Bryan Mbeumo during a stunning counterattack from inside the Man Utd half allowed the Cameroon international to break the deadlock.
When discussing Bryan Mbeumo, Deeney explained: “Playing out of position in Saturday’s derby, he ran his socks off, and delivered with a goal – a wonderful finish. He carried the team over the line.
“Hopefully, now he can start to find the net more consistently for Manchester United.”
