M6 & M62 Crash: Live Updates & Slip Road Closure

Emergency services are in attendance following a crash on a busy slip road from the M62 to the M6 near Warrington. The slip road has been shut from the M62 eastbound, at junction 10, onto the M6 southbound, at junction 21A, this afternoon (January 18). National Highways says the closure follows a collision which saw a vehicle leave the road. Queues are building up in the surrounding area. A National Highways North West spokesperson wrote on X: "The #M62 J10 eastbound slip road near #HoughtonGreen to #M6 J21A southbound is CLOSED due to a collision where a vehicle has left the carriageway. Emergency services are on scene. Delays are building on approach." Two fire engines attended the incident alongside paramedics. A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "A car travelling on the M62 East slip road towards the M6 South has left the highway, down an embankment, and collided with trees. "One casualty is trapped, but is believed to be conscious. North West Ambulance Service are also in attendance. Fire crews are working with ambulance colleagues to stabilise the vehicle and access the casualty." The person involved has since been released from the vehicle.
