Mounties say that dashcam video of the crash shows the pedestrian, a 40-year-old man, crossing eastbound on Phipps Road when a truck, heading northbound, hits them and continues through the intersection.
“The pickup truck ran through a red light and did not stop after hitting the pedestrian,” said West Shore RCMP in a release Tuesday.
“The pedestrian sustained serious non-life-threatening injuries.”

Police are now asking the public to help identify the truck and the driver of the suspect vehicle.

“After reviewing the footage, investigators believe it is highly unlikely that the suspect driver in this situation did not know that they hit a pedestrian,” said Cpl. Nancy Saggar of the West Shore RCMP.
“We ask that anyone with information regarding who the driver is to come forward to police,” she said.
