Three Rescued After Jet Ski Pier Collision in Dún Laoghaire

Three people have been rescued by Coast Guard and lifeboat personnel after the jet ski they were travelling on crashed into the east pier in Dún Laoghaire. The Marine Rescue Coordination Centre received a call from a member of the public just before 4pm this afternoon saying that all three people had gone into the water following the crash. The Dún Laoghaire Inshore lifeboat and members of the local Coast Guard unit responded, and all three casualties were recovered from the water. Two were taken by ambulance to hospital for further medical assessment. In a statement, the Department of Transport said: "At approximately 3.50 pm today, the Marine Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Dublin received a report from a member of the public regarding a jet ski incident at Dun Laoghaire East Pier. "The caller reported that a jet ski with three people onboard had collided with the pier, resulting in all three individuals entering the water. The Irish Coast Guard Dun Laoghaire inshore lifeboat and the local Coast Guard unit were immediately tasked to the scene. All three casualties were recovered from the water, with two transported by ambulance to hospital for further medical assessment."
