Israel Unveils AI Supercomputer to Drive Tech Innovation

The Israel Innovation Authority officially launched on Sunday "Israel’s AI Supercomputer," following a tender process in which Nebius was selected to establish the infrastructure and make it accessible. The system is already live and operational, and the Innovation Authority is now entering the significant phase of actual resource allocation, allowing high-tech companies to use the computing power to accelerate the training of large artificial intelligence models in Israel. In the coming weeks, the Innovation Authority will also begin allocating accelerators to researchers in academia. As part of this initiative, computing resources equivalent to 1,000 Nvidia B200 accelerators will be allocated over the coming years. Seventy percent of the resources will be reserved for high-tech companies working on AI model training, while thirty percent will be allocated to research groups conducting fundamental studies. This provides access to a high-availability supercomputer at a cost lower than market rates. The allocation is expected to expand in the future as demand grows.
