Dr. Rami Ahmad’s official visit to Islamabad from 18 to 21 January 2026, aims to continue strategic engagement with the Pakistan through strengthening sustainable development cooperation, advancing major IsDB-financed initiatives, and engaging senior government leadership on national priorities and the 2026 work program with the Bank. More specifically, the visit will also kick-start the discussions of IsDB’s new Member Country Partnership Strategy (MCPS) for Pakistan in support of the national priorities and latest development plan - Uraan Pakistan - as IsDB’s 2023-2025 Country Engagement Framework for Pakistan has been successfully completed. While in Islamabad, the IsDB Vice President Operations will sign three major agreements with IsDB financing totaling around US$ 603 million covering key transport, education, and poverty eradication projects. He will also meet with the country’s Ministers of Economic Affairs; Energy; and Planning & Development and will also visit two major health and energy/water projects financed by IsDB.
