ICI Flood Control Probe Nears Completion, President Marcos Jr. Confirms

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday said the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) was nearing completion of its investigation into the flood control scandal, saying its fate depends on its remaining work. Speaking to reporters in Mandaluyong City, the President said the commission has investigated most of the issues under its mandate. "If their work is done, then we will see what they can do next. But they really are coming toward the end — all that needs to be investigated, have been investigated," Marcos said during a chance interview. "Maybe there are one or two other loose ends that they have to clear up," he added. Meanwhile, Marcos said he has not decided yet if new commissioners would be appointed following the resignations of Rogelio Singson and Rossana Fajardo. "We haven't really decided on that yet," the President said. "If they still need them, then we will."
