Hilary Duff’s daughter doesn’t quite understand her mom’s metamorphosis in A Cinderella Story. The 38-year-old recently sat down to rewatch some of her most iconic scenes across film and television, including her role as Sam Montgomery in A Cinderella Story. According to Hilary, her daughter Mae was quick to ask the question that’s been on fans’ mind since the beloved romcom hit screens in 2004. Of course, the Lizzie McGuire alum was referring to the moment that Sam attends her school’s Halloween dance dressed as a masked Cinderella. And that mask is enough to completely stump her online pen pal/love interest, Austin Ames (Chad Michael Murray), prompting his odyssey to finding his mysterious love.
