NC Daw & Co Owners Face Charges in Illegal Arms Dealings

Kolkata: The Bengal STF filed two charge sheets against the three owners of NC Daw and Co, a 190-year-old gun store in BBD Bagh, accusing them and others of dealing in illegal arms and ammunition transactions. The charge sheets were submitted in Barrackpore and Alipore courts, naming 18 individuals in total. The probe, ongoing for several months, revealed the owners were allegedly involved in two major incidents of illegal arms recovery. In one operation this year, STF raided a flat in Regent Park, Rahara, where they seized 14 firearms and 904 rounds of ammunition. This led to the arrest of the flat owner and another individual, followed by the arrest of the three brothers after further interrogation. In a separate incident in Feb, STF recovered approximately 200 rounds of cartridges and several double-barrelled guns from the Jibantala Police Station area in South 24 Parganas. Initially, four individuals were arrested, but subsequent interrogations led to the arrest of three more, including two employees of the BBD Bagh arms shop. The investigation revealed the accused were illegally selling firearms submitted to their care for testing. The three brothers are currently out on bail. End of Article
