Grootfontein Seeks Community Vehicles for Polio Response Campaign

The Otjozondjupa regional health directorate is seeking community vehicles to support the National Polio Response Campaign in Grootfontein. The campaign is scheduled for 26 to 29 January and 24 to 27 February. Senior medical officer Dr Martinus Shaninga at Grootfontein State Hospital says the campaign targets children under the age of 10 and will cover areas including Grootfontein, Omangeti, Omatako, Gam, Tsumkwe, Otjituuo, and Kombat. Health management is inviting local vehicle owners to apply to rent vehicles to support operations. Required vehicles are 4×4 double cabs with a canopy, in good condition, roadworthy, and locally available. Owners must submit applications with certified copies of their ID, vehicle registration papers, and a bank confirmation letter to the Grootfontein District Primary Health Care Services office or nearest facility by 21 January at 17h00. Payment rates are N$1 600 per day for urban rural areas, N$2 000 per day for rural areas, and N$1 300 per day for urban areas. Ministry of Health staff and relatives are not eligible. The ministry encourages community participation to support the campaign.
