Grimsargh Crash Claims Young Life: Parents Share Unbearable Pain

The parents of a teenager who died in a car crash said he was the "best boy" with the "kindest soul". William Sullivan, died when his MG collided with an Audi on Preston Road, Grimsargh, at 09:55 GMT on Sunday , Lancashire Police said. The female driver of the Audi, aged in her 40s, suffered minor injuries, police said. Paying tribute, his family said he was "funny, caring, intelligent and wise beyond his years". His parents and sister said: "To his parents, he was the most wanted and loved son there has ever been. "To his sister, he was the best brother and the kindest soul. "An amazing grandson and nephew, absolutely idolised and adored by his young nieces." They said he was a "true and loyal friend" who took his friends as they were and "distance, age or personal circumstance were no barrier; he loved them all equally". The family added: "William, we are all so immensely proud of the young man you became and of everything you achieved in your short life. "We know there was so much more to come and just wish we had longer together." They added: "We are so very grateful to have had the privilege of being your Mum and Dad. The gaping chasm you leave in all of our hearts is too much to bear." The family, who have asked for privacy, passed on their thanks those to who helped William on Sunday. "We want to say thank you to the members of the public who came to William's aid on Sunday, and to the emergency services who worked tirelessly to save our boy. "The impact that this will have had on those people, even those who would say they were 'just doing their job', is not lost on us as a family."
