Gordonvale Man Charged with Domestic Violence Murder Near Cairns

A Far North Queensland man is due to face court today charged with the murder of a woman in an alleged domestic violence incident at a home near Cairns. Police were called to Pritchard Close in Gordonvale on Sunday morning after reports an armed man was making threats. Police allege he initially refused to cooperate with officers before being taken into custody a short time later. The body of a 29-year-old woman was found inside the home. Police have charged a 29-year-old Gordonvale man with one count of murder as a domestic violence offence. He is due to appear at the Cairns Magistrates Court.
