A rare blend of motorsport and maritime excess recently unfolded in Dubai’s Port Rashid harbor, where a contemporary Formula 1 car was spotted riding on the deck of a $55 million superyacht. The unusual sight, shared widely on Instagram, offered a glimpse into the extremes of luxury culture in the United Arab Emirates, where high-end yachts and elite performance cars often intersect in unexpected ways. The yacht, identified as the 66-meter AHS, is believed to be owned by Abbas Hussain Sajwani, a real estate entrepreneur and son of developer Hussain Sajwani. Built in 2005 by Dutch yacht builder Oceano, the vessel measures approximately 217 feet long and carries a gross tonnage of 1,801 tons. Despite being powered by twin diesel Deutz-MWM engines producing more than 6,000 horsepower, the yacht’s top speed is a modest 16 knots, prioritizing comfort over velocity. Designed to accommodate 14 guests across six staterooms, along with an 18-member crew, the AHS also features a rear deck large enough to temporarily house a full-scale Formula 1 car. At roughly 18.5 feet long, the car occupies a significant portion of the deck space, rivaling the length of many full-size SUVs. The Formula 1 car itself appears to wear a Racing Green livery associated with Aston Martin’s modern return to the sport in 2021. Visual details suggest it is likely a re-liveried AMR24 from the 2024 season, rather than a current competition car. The absence of a shark fin engine cover and the presence of the number 14 on the nose, used by Fernando Alonso since 2014, offer further clues. Whether the car is a genuine former race chassis or a high-quality show car remains unconfirmed, though replicas of recent Aston Martin models have previously been offered for sale.
