Egyptian Soldiers Reportedly Spotted at CMCC Base in Israel

US Central Command (CENTCOM) published footage from throughout January showing Egyptian soldiers at the Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) in Kiryat Gat, Israeli public broadcaster KAN News reported on Sunday. According to KAN, this marks the third delegation from an Arab country to currently be present at the CMCC base, alongside representatives from Jordan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The CMCC was established in October 2025 to shift responsibility for managing the Israel-Hamas ceasefire, humanitarian aid, and planning for the future of the Gaza Strip into allied hands following the acceptance of US President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan. Israel reportedly surveilled, recorded CMCC base In early December 2025, The Guardian reported that Israel had carried out widespread surveillance on military forces stationed at the CMCC, citing sources briefed on the matter. The base was reportedly under such heavy surveillance that Lt.-Gen. Patrick Frank, the base's commander, summoned his Israeli counterpart to insist “recording has to stop here.” Staff were allegedly instructed to avoid sharing sensitive information within the CMCC, over fears that Jerusalem was collecting the data to later exploit it. “The IDF documents and summarizes meetings in which it is present through protocols, as any professional organization of this nature does in a transparent and agreed-upon manner,” the IDF said in a statement at the time. “The claim that the IDF is gathering intelligence on its partners in meetings in which the IDF is an active participant is absurd.”
