Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Gets Major Switch 2 Update with Dixie Kong

Nintendo has announced a free update for Donkey Kong Country Returns HD on Switch and Switch 2. This update adds iconic Kong clan member Dixie to both single-player and two-player local co-op. Dixie can give DK a boost when jumping, while her ponytail acts as a sort of propeller for "reaching new heights". I mean, I can't even get my ponytail to stay in place for an entire day, and most of what I do is sit at my desk, but I promise I am not jealous… As well as the addition of Dixie Kong, this update also adds Turbo Attack, which means players can race through "high-speed versions of each level" with the aim to get to the end before the time limit runs out. While the above additions are for both Donkey Kong Country Returns HD on Switch and Switch 2, there are also some improvements specifically for Nintendo's newer console. These include enhanced resolution, higher-definition graphics, and quicker load times. So yes, we are getting the Switch 2 update to a Switch 1 game, which was a port of a 3DS game, that was a port of a Nintendo Wii game.
