As Dolly Parton rings in her 80th birthday on Monday, she's giving fans a glimpse of her new decade. In rare new photos shared on January 19, the "Jolene" singer made a colorful appearance in a plunging corset dress encrusted with rhinestones as she posed with a butterfly cake. Set to her track "Light of a Clear Blue Morning," Parton could be seen tasting her cake's frosting and blowing out the flames on her giant "80" birthday candle with a fire extinguisher in a birthday photo dump. Wearing her signature platinum blonde hair and glam, Parton embraced dopamine dressing, celebrating the milestone birthday in a colorful patchwork-style corset dress with long sleeves, a mockneck design, and a plunging peek-a-boo cutout with bedazzled rhinestones covering her chest. A colorful waist-cincher finished off her look. In an interview with People from November, the “Jolene” singer opened up about her plans for her next decade while sharing an update on her health. At the time, Parton revealed she was looking forward to turning 80 for a personal reason, telling the publication, "Not that anybody would want to celebrate that, but there is a celebration in the fact that I have done so much in that time and that I’m still doing it.” The Grammy Award-winning singer also told People that she doesn’t let getting older hold her back from her dreams, sharing, "People say, 'Well, you're going to be 80 years old.’ Well, so what? Look at all I’ve done in 80 years. I feel like I’m just getting started.” She added, "If you allow yourself to get old, you will. I say, ‘I ain’t got time to get old!.’ I ain’t got time to dwell on that. That’s not what I’m thinking about," Parton also shared an update on her health, revealing she’s “doing fine” after "health challenges” forced her to postpone her Las Vegas residency last September. "I know that sounds stupid, but unless my health gives way, which right now I seem to be doing fine," she explained. After her sister Freida sparked concern last October asking for prayers for Parton’s recovery, the “9 to 5” singer gave fans a tongue-in-cheek update while filming videos for the Grand Ole Opry. “Lately, everybody thinks that I am sicker than I am,” she said, reassuring her fans that she’s doing “okay” and “not dying.” Parton closed out her video, “I love you for caring, and keep praying for me.” As she begins her next decade, the “9 to 5” singer told People that she’s taking each day as it comes, sharing, "I don’t know what I’m going to be doing tomorrow.
