Evil Killer David Lawler Released: 30 Years for Rape & Murder

EVIL David Lawler was released from prison this morning after serving a near 30-year stint for the shocking rape and murder of a civil servant. The Irish Sun can reveal Lawler – who raped and murdered Marilyn Rynn near her Dublin home on Christmas week 1995 – strolled out of Dublin’s Arbour Hill prison at 10.10am. The monster was then whisked away in a car to his new home in the capital, where he will now reside. A source said: “He was very relaxed about the whole thing. He had obviously been on temporary release on various occasions. “He walked out after 10am with his belongings and was picked up just outside the prison.” He was charged with Marilyn’s murder in August 1996 and was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1998 after pleading guilty to the horrendous crime. Lawler, a cousin of Larry Murphy, was the first killer in Irish history to be caught as a result of DNA testing. The thug will begin a new life but under the watchful eye of the gardai, who will stay on top of his movements and his personal circumstances. Victim Marilyn, 41, was reported missing on St Stephen’s Day by her brother after she had failed to appear at her parents’ house on Christmas Day. She had not been seen since she left her Christmas party on December 21 to get some Eddie Rockets’ food and take a Nitelink to Blanchardstown. There was no sign of her again until a massive search in the local Tolka Valley Park on January 7, when a cadaver dog found her naked body. She had been sexually assaulted and strangled. DNA FOUND All her clothes had been removed and stacked neatly beside her body. A manhunt was launched, and for the first time, gardai pinned their hopes on DNA to catch the culprit after semen was found. They were able to connect a DNA sample to Lawler, who was 33 at the time. The cocky killer did not believe he would be caught after searching online how long DNA lasts in the natural elements.
