Colleen Hoover Shares Positive Health Update: No Longer Has Cancer

One month after sharing her cancer diagnosis with the world, popular author Colleen Hoover has shared an update on her condition. On January 17, the novelist wrote on Facebook (per People) that she completed radiation treatment and no longer has cancer, telling her fans, “Just clarification because of some misleading clickbait making it sound like I’m on my deathbed or something, but I do not have cancer anymore.” Hoover originally shared her diagnosis in December, and wrote on Saturday, “I was diagnosed sometime last year, had surgery that was successful, just finished radiation yesterday.” “I am done and good and all is well and has been well,” she continued. “My doctors doctored. Hell yeah.” Hoover previously said she was having “recurring” health issues while filming the forthcoming film adaptation of Reminders of Him, writing, “I continued to put off until the movie was finished.” She added, “So while it felt huge and scary for a bit, and I had to miss out on the Regretting You premiere and some other important career and personal moment, I just wasn’t ready to share with anyone until I knew what the outcome would be.” Hoover said that her cancer was “likely environmental/lifestyle” in its cause, citing a “lack of exercise, poor diet, and stress” as possible causes. “I’m happy and grateful to be alive but I hate vegetables,” Hoover wrote on January 9. “I hate when I have to get off the couch. I hate sweating. I hate when science is right.” “If you see me at the gym, don’t even tell me good job,” she joked. “If you see me at a restaurant eating grilled chicken and drinking water, I’m probably real mad about it.” On January 12, Hoover shared a photo to her Instagram Story of herself in a hospital gown, writing alongside it, “Second to last day or radiation. I wish I could blame my hair and facial expressions on @Texas.Oncology, but they’ve been great. Hope you never need them, but highly recommend them.”
