The two-time tennis Grand Slam winner saw off competition from Olga Danilović in straight sets, sealing the victory 6-2, 6-2. It was a commanding outing for Gauff at the Margaret Court Arena, as she wasted no time establishing her dominance, winning five consecutive games in the first set. Pulling Danilović from side to side, the 21-year-old opened up the court with blistering strikes, breaking serve to take the set 6-2 despite a late push from her opponent. Set two followed a similar tale, with the third seed continuing to take advantage of unforced errors, establishing a 3-0 lead.
