DODOMA: CHAMA Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Parents’ Wing has pledged to vigorously defend the sixth phase government’s development agenda and firmly confront individuals seeking to undermine or belittle the major projects implemented across the country.
Speaking at the opening of the Parents’ Wing National Council meeting held in Dodoma over the weekend, the Wing’s Chairperson, Mr Fadhili Maganya, said the party would not tolerate any attempts to downplay the significant progress achieved under CCM’s leadership.
Mr Maganya noted that the Parents’ Wing played a pivotal role in last year’s General Election by campaigning on the strength of the extensive development initiatives implemented under President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s stewardship.
“We worked tirelessly to secure CCM’s victory, despite some individuals attempting to diminish the achievements of our government. I will be very firm with anyone who seeks to belittle this work,” he said.
He commended members of the Parents’ Wing for their dedication and commitment during the election period and urged them to continue safeguarding the party’s image, promoting unity and strengthening cohesion at all levels.
Meanwhile, the National Council adopted four key resolutions, including congratulating President Samia Suluhu Hassan on her resounding victory in the October General Election, describing the outcome as a clear reflection of public trust and confidence in CCM’s leadership.

Presenting the resolutions, the Council’s Secretary-General, Mr Ali Hapi, said the Parents’ Wing reaffirmed its unwavering support for the government’s efforts to promote peace, unity and national cohesion as essential pillars for sustainable development.
He said the resolutions were anchored in Article 5 of the CCM Constitution (1977, 2025 Edition), which outlines the party’s core objectives of winning state elections and safeguarding national interests.
The Council also congratulated Vice-President Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi and Prime Minister Dr Mwigulu Nchemba on their appointments, noting that their selection reflected the President’s strong confidence in their leadership abilities.
Moreover, the Council applauded Mr Hemed Suleiman Abdulla on his reappointment as Zanzibar’s Second Vice-President, describing the decision as an affirmation of confidence in his service to the Isles.
“The Parents’ Wing will remain at the forefront of strengthening the party, supporting both the Union and Zanzibar governments, and amplifying the good work being carried out under the 2025–2030 CCM Election Manifesto,” Mr Hapi said.
The Council further pledged to continue engaging communities, articulating government achievements, and ensuring that citizens’ concerns are addressed through the party’s established structures.
