CCM Launches Nationwide Tour to Track 100-Day Progress

CHAMA Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) is launching a nationwide strategic working tour today, designed to assess the progress made in the implementation of President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s campaign promises within the first 100 days of her administration. The tour will focus on evaluating key developmental initiatives and ensuring that the objectives outlined in her administration’s early agenda are on track for successful delivery. The first leg of the tour kicks off in Singida Region, where the party will visit all districts from today to January 22. Addressing a press briefing in Dodoma yesterday, CCM Secretary for Ideology, Publicity and Training, Mr Kenani Kihongosi, said the tour is part of the party’s continuous review of the President’s campaign commitments to determine which have been fully implemented, which are ongoing and those requiring new execution strategies. “Some pledges have been implemented 100 per cent, others are ongoing and some will be completed before the 100-day period lapses,” he said. Mr Kihongosi said the tour also marks the launch of a political clinic designed to listen to citizens’ concerns and address emerging challenges. ALSO READ: CCM vows development for all citizens He noted that the mission aims to strengthen the party, deepen engagement with citizens and reinforce the values that guide the nation’s direction and CCM’s institutional growth. “CCM is the people’s party, the custodian of peace, unity and national progress,” he stressed. The tour, he said, will also provide a platform for the party to interact directly with supporters, gather feedback and reinforce structures at all levels. “Our core intention is to meet Tanzanians, listen to their concerns and take up the issues they want us, as a party, to address,” he said. Mr Kihongosi added that the party will continue to stand firm at a time when some individuals are issuing statements that mislead the public, discourage citizens, or attempt to undermine the achievements of the sixth-phase government. “CCM will not allow the country’s history, truth and successes to be distorted for personal or political gain,” he declared. He said the Singida tour will provide an open platform for all citizens to share concerns, grievances or cases of unfairness. “It is our duty as a party to listen to the people and respond to the messages they directed at us,” he added. He urged residents of Singida facing challenges to turn out in large numbers, assuring them that the party will address their concerns. Mr Kihongosi emphasised that national politics should not be driven by anger, blame, or discouraging rhetoric, but by fact-based dialogue and a shared commitment to nation-building. “A strong and responsible party does not run from issues or avoid debates. It stands with the people and ensures politics serves development, not division,” he said.
