Tragic Bus Accident Claims Two Lives in Lucena City

LUCENA CITY, Quezon – Two men were hit and killed by a passenger bus while crossing the Diversion Road in Barangay Ilayang Dupay here on Monday night, Jan. 19. Police identified the victims as Jose, 58, and Gabriel, 58. They sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. Franklin, the driver of the bus with license plates DBP-8906, was apprehended and under the custody of the Lucena City Police Station. He faces a case of reckless imprudence resulting in double homicide. Meanwhile, a 51-year-old man was hacked to death by two men during a drinking session in Barangay Amot, Burdeos, Quezon on Monday night. Police said the suspects Ericson, 44, and Rustum, 25, arrived and hacked the victim Ramil who died on the spot. A manhunt against the suspects is underway. They face murder charges.
