Nairobi Detectives Probe Man's Death on Buruburu Roadside

Detectives are investigating the killing of a man whose body was found dumped in Mutindwa, Buruburu, Nairobi county. Police said the body had a swollen eye when it was discovered on Monday evening. It is suspected he was killed near the Kenya Railways station. Nairobi police commander George Seda said the motive of the murder has not yet been established. The body was moved to the mortuary pending identification, postmortem and other procedures. In Macalder Migori county, the body of Samba Wambura, 34, was recovered in Mirema Forest after a suspected murder. Police said the deceased was a boda boda rider in Migori town. He had gone missing on January 14 and his relatives made a missing person report on January 17. Police said as they moved it to the mortuary pending postmortem and investigations. The deceased’s motorcycle was missing, a sign that killers targeted it. Cases of murder linked to stealing of motorcycles have been on the rise in separate parts of the country. In Embu county, a 17-year-old boy drowned after a boat he and four others were using capsized in Tana River in Mutuobare area. The group was crossing the river on Sunday from Thana Nzau in Kitui county to Kathenge village when the incident happened, police said. Four of those onboard swam to their safety while the deceased identified as Kelvin Kioko, 17, drowned. His body was retrieved and moved to the mortuary pending other procedures, police said. Police said such incidents are common in the area. Boats capsize as residents use them to cross the swollen river. In Soweto village in Kayole, Nairobi county, police are investigating an incident where a 30-year-old man was stoned to death after he attacked and injured his wife in a domestic feud. The wife screamed for help and was rushed to the hospital where she was admitted in a stable condition. Residents then turned on the man and stoned him to death, police said. The body was moved to the mortuary pending other procedures. Police discourage mob lynching and term it criminal. They want suspects surrendered to authorities for processing and prosecution. In Luanda, Vihiga county, a tout was attacked and killed by his colleagues in a feud over passenger pick-up points. The deceased was identified as Simon Kisekwa, 35. Police said a group of touts differed on passenger pick-up points leading to a confrontation. It is then that the deceased was hit by a blunt object in the head and died on the spot. The body was picked up from the scene and moved to the mortuary pending postmortem. Police said they are pursuing known suspects.
