When it comes to the Black Kitten in the TikTok video below, the cat distribution system really knew what it was doing. She didn't have a home, but when her new humans found her, she knew she was safe. The person who found the kitten, Taryn Hart, shared the full story in the sweetest TikTok video, starting from the moment she managed to convince the cat to trust her by offering her a little ice cream. The treat is what convinced the kitty that she had found good people, and it didn't take long before she and her mom were bonding. "It was like she was waiting on me to come find her," Taryn wrote in the video. After Taryn took her to the vet and got her the proper treatment for worms and a parasite, she was as good as new. And when Taryn sadly realized she was allergic to cats, her mom took her in. Now the kitten, whose name is Elphie (after Elphaba from Wicked, of course), is finally living happily ever after. If you find a kitten or cat and you think you want to provide them a forever home, the ASPCA recommends making the vet the first stop. There, they can check their health and make sure they don't have a microchip, which would mean someone out there is looking for them and hoping they come home. And if the cat is a kitten like Elphie, you'll also need to make sure they get all their vaccinations, and they are being fed the correct diets—other things that a vet can help you with.
